Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Gear Journey handles information when you use the Gear Journey Customer application, web app, PWA, desktop app, and related support services.
Information we process
- Account information: email address, authentication identifiers, and account status.
- Workspace and workflow data: workspace/business name, gear records, asset IDs, QR identifiers, ownership/condition details, jobs, gear check records, service/history notes, and other information you choose to enter.
- Cloud sync and device information: device label/platform, app version, sync revision, timestamps, and technical information needed to operate and protect synchronization.
- Payment information: selected plan/period, payment method category, transaction/reference number, payment request status, and payment slip/screenshot if you upload one. Gear Journey does not store full bank-card numbers or card security codes.
- Support information: messages and attachments you choose to send to support.
How we use information
We use information to provide the app, authenticate users, synchronize private workspaces, operate gear and shoot-day workflows, process subscription/payment requests, provide support, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and maintain security and service reliability.
Service providers
Gear Journey may use service providers to run the service, including Supabase for authentication/database/storage and Cloudflare for hosting and delivery. If PayHere is enabled for web/desktop one-time payments, PayHere processes the payment transaction. Native app-store builds may use Google Play or Apple payment services where required. Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies.
Sharing and sale of data
We do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared with service providers only as needed to operate the service, comply with law, protect users or the service, or process a transaction you request.
Data retention
Account and workspace data is kept while needed to provide the service. Payment and support records may be retained where reasonably necessary for transaction verification, security, dispute handling, or legal obligations. Data that is not required to be retained is deleted when an account deletion request is completed.
Account and data deletion
You can initiate account deletion inside the app from Settings โ Support & Legal โ Delete Account & Data. You can also request deletion from the public account deletion page. Deleting an account is intended to remove the account and associated Gear Journey workspace data, subject to any limited retention required by law, security, fraud prevention, or legitimate transaction records.
Security
We use access controls, authenticated cloud requests, restricted storage, and other reasonable safeguards. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so keep your account credentials private and contact support if you suspect unauthorized access.
Children
Gear Journey is designed for photographers and business/workflow use and is not directed to children.
Your choices
You can export local backups, edit many records in the app, stop using cloud sync by signing out, and request account/data deletion. For privacy questions, email support.gearjourney@gmail.com.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product, legal requirements, or service providers change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are published.
